Estellise sneaks out of the castle and, after beating a group of thugs, finds Cornelia in the White Rabbit Inn. Shortly after, they rush to the castle for Euphemia's safety. As they arrive and come across Duke, Kyle tries to convince him about Regae's wrongs, ending up punching the ruler, only to end up in jail. Cornelia then returns to the castle. Later at night, though, they are paid a visit by Geki, whom Cornelia repels from their room after threatening Estellise. The former then encounters Regae, revealing that Sylvas would be caught in chaos if he is to die by any means. This gives Regae an idea, who kills Geki and frames Cornelia for murder. Once brought to the court, the latter overdoes things and effectively confirms her father's suspicions of her, sending her to the dungeon. However, Nonette soon arrives, frees Cornelia, and reveals the plan to escape from the island. Cornelia follows up and after coming for Estelle, they eventually run to the North of Fort Nightshade, where they get ambushed. Despite her efforts, Estelle gets lethally shot, causing Cornelia to go a fury-infused rampage. After dealing with the army, Cornelia only sobs over her loss, blaming herself for everything. Back to the present day, Nonette tries to reassure her that it's not her fault. Out of the sudden, though, they get surrounded by shady figures, whom Nonette promptly takes care of, only to find out that they were illusions made by Daren, who points out the crime the two did, and the fact that they've been unsuccessfully looked for for twelve years. Determined not to lose another sibling, Cornelia, along with Nonette, prepares to fight.
